I saw a Lotus Pond in Tarlac and the Lotus were very healthy. How I wish my lotus plants are the same.

Gardening Day
I transferred my Dwarf Rosal plants to a Long Planter. One plant already had a flower. I also transferred the Iris to a Planter as well as the Rosa Mia. But the Rosa Mia looks like it will grow big so I just placed 1 Plant in a Big Pot instead of putting 3 in 1 Pot.

My Melendres Plant
I am very happy today. The Melendres plant I bought which did not flower at home is now full of flowers. When I brought this to the farm it was in a pot, so it was not transferred to the soil. It had no flowers at that time, and less than a month, it is full of pink flowers.
Weather at the farm trully suits flowering plants.

My Lotus Seedling
My Lotus seedling seems to be doing fine. I just hope the leaves of these seedlings would not rot like what happened to my first lotus seedlings. I am thinking that the osmocote I put in the soil made the leaves rot.
Japanese Orange
Last week I bought a Japanese Orange Seedling at the AANI Market. Got this for 500, and it already has a fruit! I hope I would be successful in growing this. Just need a big pot to put this in.

My Love Affair With Gardening
While growing up I did not care about Trees or Plants or Flowers. But as I grew up I found Plants, Trees and Flowers (Anything Green!) Interesting. But it was only around 4-5 Years ago that I found Gardening interesting. I still have a lot to learn about gardening. A few months ago, I decided to go into Vermicomposting. It was a Failure! As the worms did not seem to thrive, instead I kept seeing dead worms outside the bin. Anyway, I just decided to do the regular composting, After getting all the grass clippings, dried leaves, etc. I dumped them all into a Compost Bin that I had made. I have not yet checked what happened to the Compost, but the bottom seemed to have turned brown already. As for the Vermicompost Bin, I have not yet peeked into the inside as to what there is to discover.
My experiment now is Lotus Growing. My first problem was scarifying the seeds, but I have since solved that by Buying a Kikil (I think this is what you call a File in English, but different looking). My Big Problem now is that the leaves of my Lotus are rotting! I do not know if it has something to do with the Small Plastic Bags I used to contain them or the Styrofoam container I used. Anyway, I will have to do some re experimenting as to how I can grow them better.
I hope you can also discover your Love Affair with Gardening. It is never too late. Gardening is a rewarding Hobby not just for the Old, but also for the Young and Not so young.
