EM-1

At the recently concluded Agrilink i purchased EM-1 from the Harbest Booth. This seems to be better suited to me than making FPJ or FFJ since it doesn't need to be placed in a banga for 7 Days anymore, instead EM-1 will be mixed with molasses and water and placed inside a bottle and left for 7 days (no more of the plant or fruit chopping). So far the EMAS (this is what the mixture i made is called) seems to be promising.

FPJ and FFJ??!!

I tried making FFJ last month and the resulting product was less than what should be expected. I used a newly bought Banga. I placed all the ingredients inside the banga (I used bananas) and left it to ferment for a week. What should have been 2.5 Litres of liquid turned out to just half a Mineral Water Bottle.

The FPJ meanwhile was a total failure! I used Talbos ng Kamote (2 Kilos) and Molasses (1Kilo). I left the ingredients inside the bang for 10 days. I forgot to harvest it at 7 days and when i opened it, I was shocked!! There was no more liquid left.

I posted a question in the PNFI Facebook account and they said that if it was a newly bought banga it could have absorbed the liquid. They said that i should use and use the banga until it doesn't absorb any water anymore or just put a liner inside.

Will try making FPJ and FFJ again and hopefully i will see better results.

Hello Newbie Farmer

I totally forgot that I had a Pinoy Gardener blog. But it seems that i am not a Gardener anymore but a Newbie Farmer so better to change the blog title from The Pinoy Gardener to the Pinoy "Newbie" Farmer.

Azolla for the 3rd Time

I am trying to grow Azolla for the 3rd time. The first 2 times I tried to grow it were kinda okay but in the end I failed. At first the Azolla kept on growing but the rains came!!! And sometimes I forget to cover the Azolla and they overflow!! I hope 3rd time I will be lucky. It is sunny today and I put out my azolla outside. The duckweed on the other hand seems to be doing well despite the rains. It has multiplied and it was all that was left with the Azolla from my 2nd try.
